Date: 31 March, 2017
Location: NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT
On the weekend of March 31 – April 2, there’s only one place for any classic car fan to be – the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show.
Last year, 19,000 enthusiasts took the trip to the NEC in Birmingham for a celebration of all things classic and restoration. The show is the UK’s fastest growing classic car event, and 2017’s event looks set to be the best yet.
Here’s a taste of what to expect over the weekend:
Cars, cars, cars
Over 1,000 of them to be precise!
It wouldn’t be a classic car show without a whole lot of classic cars. Whether you’re looking for Austins or Ferraris, concours or barn finds, you’ll find them all here.
Parts, parts, parts
For restoration enthusiasts and hobbyists, head to the trader village and Autojumble. This year you’ll find over 100 stands selling parts, tools and oddments to suit any kind of refurb.
Classic car clubs
In 2017, the show will have more car clubs than ever before, with over 130 classic car clubs attending. They’ll be showing off some of their greatest cars, and you may even catch a glimpse of a restoration in action.
Classics under the hammer
Around 200 cars will be going under the Classic Car Auctions hammer across a 2-day weekend sale. So, if you’re looking to treat yourself to a new classic, you know where to be.
A live show like no other
A 48-hour restoration, classic car parades, celebrity guests – there’s a lot to see on the Practical Classics Live Stage. On top of all the live surprises, head to the stage to see master classes from industry experts and learn more about the art of classic restoration.
The Footman James stand
Footman James will be paying homage to Jezabel, the restored Mark II Aston Martin. First registered on the 8th June 1934, Jezabel has a whole lot of history behind the wheel; from Concours gold, racing trophies, to being the proud winner of the Jahor Singapore Vintage Grand Prix in 1962; here Jezabel was in her prime. In 2014, Jezabel was restored to her full beauty just in time for her 80th Birthday in June and has since taken on the Rally of the INCAs in 2016, raising an amazing £12,513 for Prostate Cancer Research. Now, three years after restoration, Jezabel makes her mark at the NEC Practical Classics restoration show to share her story and express how passion, time and a little bit of work can make a restoration project someone’s pride and joy.
We’ve just scratched the surface. With workshops, ‘Drive a Classic Car’ experiences, charity events and much more happening over the 3 days, this isn’t an event to miss.
